Teacher Candidates Across U.S.
O
pportunities continue
to abound for K-12
teachers in most
subject areas, especially teachers
open to relocation. According to
a survey of colleges, universities
and school districts conducted by
the American Association for Em-

2019, the nationwide demand for
teachers exceeds demand in all
but two subject areas: Physical
Education and Social Studies
Education. Subject areas experi-
encing a "considerable shortage"
overall (and therefore most in
demand) include:
• Bilingual/Multicul-
tural Education
• Chemistry
• Chinese Language
• Classical Languages
• Cognitive Disabilities
Special Education
